डायबिटिक रेटिनोपैथी (मधुमेह नेत्र रोग) का इलाज संभव है, लेकिन तब जब इसे शुरुआती समय में ही डिटेक्ट किया जाए। अक्सर लोग आंखों के ट्रीटमेंट के लिए डॉक्टर के पास तब पहुंचते हैं, जब उन्हें देखने में समस्या आने लगती है। डायबिटीज के 50 प्रतिशत मामलों में लोग रेटिनोपैथी से पीड़ित होते हैं, लेकिन ट्रीटमेंट के लिए देर से पहुंचने से उनका इलाज नहीं हो पाता है।

Diabetic retinopathy is a diabetes complication that affects eyes. It's caused by damage to the blood vessels of the light-sensitive tissue at the back of the eye (retina).
At first, diabetic retinopathy may cause no symptoms or only mild vision problems. Eventually, it can cause blindness.

Often people get to the doctor for eye treatment, when they start having problems seeing them. In 50% of cases of diabetes, people suffer from retinopathy, but they do not get treatment due to delayed treatment.
