Ketosis vs Diabetic Ketoacidosis
Dr. campitelli asks the question, are exogenous ketones right for me? She explains that taking products like keto os are very beneficial to the body.
She further explains that there is a distinctive difference between nutritional ketosis, exogenous ketones, and diabetic ketoacidosis. Nutritional ketosis is the process of your body breaking down fat as a source of fuel which creates ketones. This only happens when a person follows a very low carb diet that is high in fat. A person can drink exogenous ketone bodies without pushing the body into nutritional ketosis, bit it still elevates the ketones in your blood.
Diabetic ketoacidosis is a dangerous state which occurs in the absence of insulin. Without insulin, the blood sugar level rises the body thinks it is starving so it starts to produce ketones. So a person with Diabetic ketoacidosis may end up with elevated levels of blood sugar and ketones which may be toxic. This cannot occur if there is insulin in the body.
Always consult your doctor or physician before taking exogenous ketones if you are at risk or if you have Diabetic Ketoacidosis.

Keto is not worth it imo. It is harmful and hard to adhere to. I recommend the Agoge diet because it’s personalized and balanced and most importantly worked great for me.
